Why Toniks Languages was the right choice for Danielle:
  • Live, individual classes tailored to her needs.
  • Access from anywhere in the world on her laptop.
  • Quality Spanish tutor from Madrid.
  • Replay of lesson recordings in spare time.
  • Flexible lesson times.

"I'm really enjoying my classes, and it's wonderful having access to Nuria even though she's in Madrid and I'm travelling around the world participating in tournaments."

Danielle Masters

Ladies Professional Golfer masters Spanish while on tour.

Danielle Masters is a professional golfer playing on the Ladies European Tour. Participation in competitions takes her to Europe, Australia and Japan for eight days at a time. In between she usually has four days rest back at her home in Kent. With this hectic schedule it would normally be impossible for her to have regular Spanish lessons. But Toniks has changed all that.

Danielle travels with her laptop and a headset - all she needs to access Toniks' live, online language tuition, whether at home or abroad.

Danielle's Spanish tutor is Nuria Cabellos, a member of the Institute of Linguists. She lives near Madrid and loves being able to teach Toniks' students all over the world. Danielle and Nuria meet online in a virtual classroom where they can speak to and see one another in real time, and interact in a variety of ways aimed at maximising the learning process.

Danielle arranges her lesson times with Nuria at the start of each week. While abroad, Danielle prefers to have lessons in the evenings after she has spent the day practising. She usually avoids lessons on competition days. Back home, Danielle's preference is for classes in the mornings before she sets off to the gym.

Nuria prepares lessons tailored to Danielle's requirements. She is currently focusing on teaching Danielle to communicate in restaurants, hotels, airports and, naturally, on the golf course. Danielle, as an English speaker, has a headstart on some Spanish golfing terms, such as "el backswing"!

The Spanish lessons are recorded, and this enables Danielle to revise on her own between lessons. She replays lessons on her laptop while travelling and in quiet periods, such as the time in between practising and heading off to a restaurant with her fellow players.

You can follow Danielle's progress on the Ladies European Tour at www.ladieseuropeantour.com or watch coverage on Sky Sports 1.
